To alleviate these issues, Smart Commute Sudbury partners with businesses to help promote sustainable alternative transportation for their employees.

how does it work?

Smart Commute uses a website and app to provide users with a multi-use platform for finding ways to get to work, or wherever else they’re going.

Individuals can register independently, or join their organization’s private network to find and post rides.

create your account

Download the SmartCommute.ca app available on both Android or iOS. Create a profile using your work email address. Select your organization from the drop-down list.
search for a route

From your Dashboard, you can Search trips to see your commute options.
Enter your origin and your destination, then click Find Carpool Partners to generate a list of people looking to connect for carpooling.
You can also find walking, biking, or bus routes here.

Your Search Results will show all the carpool matches along your route. Select Drivers to see users who are offering to drive. Select Passengers to connect with users looking to carpool or looking to share a taxi ride. Click on any of the numbers to see more information about a specific carpool match
find a good fit

Click on a profile to see when the person is offering a ride or looking for a ride. The app will indicate if any of the times appear to be a good fit.
get in touch

Click the Contact button at the bottom of their schedule screen to send them a direct message. You have the option to include your phone number and work email in your message.
From there, you can form a carpool!
manage your carpools

Click the hamburger icon to open your main menu. Click on My Carpools to see a list of your carpools.
Use this page and your app’s calendar to keep track.
